Mango sticky rice

I just made some mango sticky rice for myself.

Glutinous/Sticky rice, coconut milk, sugar and honey mango.

Soak the rice in 2 cups of cool water at least an hour.

Take your steamer put water in the bottom , Pour the sticky rice in the steamer and steam take about 25 - 30 minutes . Between waiting the sticky rice mixed the coconut milk , sugar together.

Once sticky rice already cook, slowly pour coconut milk (with sugar) over the hot sticky rice. The sticky rice will absorb all the coconut milk.
Slices of fresh ripe mango eat with sticky rice , ready to serve.

Barley Water

I am really not sure if there is any scientific or medical proof to the benefit that barley water but for me I will made the barley water when the weather is very hot like Singapore. The Chinese doctor said people not enough sleep, have a sore throat and high fever . Barley water can help the body to cool down , one of old lady tell me that when she was a fever after drink barley water her fever recover like magic.

Barley(small seeds), rock sugar and water.
Place the water and barley in to a medium pot, set medium heat wait untill boiling add some rock sugar decrease the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes to one hour.

Let the barley water cool down ,train and pour into a glass or cup.

Konnyaku Jelly

If you went to some food court or shopping centre they selling many type of jellys but in Thailand we have just Agar - Agar jelly only. So yesterday I tried to make Konnyaku jelly (strawberry favour).



This is 1 packet of happy grass Konnyaku Jelly Powder (strawberry favour) and 1 can of Tropical Fruit Mix .



Just start to Pour 1 packet of happy grass Konnyaku Jelly Powder into a pot add 1250 ml of plain water into the pot slowly. Stir continuously while adding water to prevent the mixture from forming lumps.




Bring the mixture to boil under strong flame. After boiling, switch to small flame. Continue to boil and stir for another 3 minutes, remove Flame, add malic acid and stir till dissolve.



Plave fruits in mould. Pour the mixture into mould untill full. Allow jelly to set before placing into refregetator. for best result leave the konnyaku jelly in the refrigerator overnight.

Thanying restaurant (Singapore)

I have been to Thanying restaurant at Amara hotel, this is nicest for starts to eat thai food. I would recommend the mango salad, duck red curry and I always order Steame Basa Fish Lime Dressing and catfish salad ( my favourit dishes) another dish to order is the Tom Yam kung (hot&sour sauce king prawn soup). If you still have room after that you can go for Thai desserts and fruits buffet. It contains of a wide variety of thai desserts red rubby, steamed custard with sticky rice, pandan noodles with coconut milk and fruits like Thai green mangoes, ripe papaya, pink Thai pomaloes ect...

Basil Leave Rice

Basil Leave Rice with Egg at Concorde hotel @ Orchard Road.
I always went there to had my Dinner , It's a food court they are many type of food stalls like Indian food, Italian food, Local food , Korean food and most my favourite stall is Thai food.

Inside Concorde Hotel have restaurant, bar,salon, message,karaoke, food court ,shopping mall and etc.
Come to Thai food stall , there are many dishes you can chooes like Tom yam fried rice set $5, Olive fried rice set $5 also .

or you can chooes fried garlic chicken with rich just for $4, Fried chicken lemon grass with rice also $4.50.

For myself I always prefer Basil leave chicken with egg (of couse nice taste loh)



This is another Thai food stall you must try when you pass by.

Loh Mai Fan.

Loh Mai Fan is another Chinese dish that my dear always cook for us.
(because I don't know how to cook plus lazy )

For ingredients he will soaked dried musrooms about 10 minutes (cut small pices),for the glutinous rice also soaked in the water about 3 hours rinse the rice and drain , well after that starting to heat the oil add onions, sliced cuttlefish, musrooms , oyster sauce, cooked peanut , a bit of water and last glutinous rice mix thoroughly. Scoop it up in to a big blowl (flat the bottome) steam about 35 to 35 minutes.
That's let eat. It may look like many steps but it's very easy.

One of my favourite food is indonesia food.
Many times I went this restaurant with my dear, I like to eat Ayam penyet and Smashed Pomfret, most high light is chillies paste ( a bit spicy) but very nice . If you looking for Indonesia Authentic Restaurant , I think Ayam penyet other option you can try!!!

Thai Green Mango Salad

Ingredients: Mango( shredded) , plum sugar, fresh red chillies, small onion, dried prawn, fish sauce.

Mix all the ingredients together accept mango in a bowl.

Arrange the shredded mango on a serving plate add sauce drizzle the dressing over the shredded mango mix all together , ready to serve.

Singapore Popiah (Spring Roll)

Middle tunip and carrot peel and slice, Large poh piah skin, vegetable oil, salt and light soya sauce.

Mix turnip , carrot , salt and light sauce all together, to assemble rolls place a spring roll wrapper on a clean working surface Place one heaping Tbsp of the filling on the wrapper. Fold the left and right sides of wrapper ver filling then left up the wide end nearest you and tuck it over top, put a bit of water on wrapper before you roll to the other end.

To fry spring rolls , place some oil in to the pan over medium heat till hot enough place spring rolls in oil to drain while you finish frying the rest become golden brown coulor.

Serve spring rolls while still hot with Thai Sweet Chili Sauce.

Most every month I will go Japanese Restaurant and one of them is Bachmann Japaness Restaurant at Takashimaya Department Store #B202 because they have many of dishes and reasonable price. For my flavourit dish is Salmon small don and Crab Salad.

Salmon Small don just $4.80 and Crab Salad $7.80 only.

If you are looking for Japaness Cuisine I think Bachmann Japanese Restaurant is another choice you can try.

Emperor Herbs Chicken Spices


My dear favourite Chinese cuisine is Emperoe Herbs Chicken Spices.
I starting from prepare 1 Whole Chicken ,1 Packet of Emperor Herbs Chicken Spices, Aluminium Foil & HDPE Wrapper and then remove the head & legs of a cleaned chicken, spread the sachet of seasoning evenly inside & outside the chicken&place in on the HDPE wrapper. After that Put the herbs into 1 litre of water & boil for 15 minutes (add a little shao Hsing Chiew to enhance the taste), pour the herb&water on to & inside the chicken wrap in up with the HDPE wrapper followed by alominium foil. Steam for about 2 hours with slow flame and an authentic Emperor Herbs Chicken is ready to serve.

*Enclosed Aluminium Foil & HDPE Wrapper.

Thai Mango Sticky Rice



One of my favourite dessert is Thai Mango Sticky Rice , this dessert made from Thai sticky rice , sugar and coconut cream. Last week Mater Chan pass to me (yummy yummy)
She get from Thai food store at Tangs plaza . Anyone pass by must try because just $3.50 only.

Fried sweet potato leave with sambal chilli

I had tried fried sweet potato leave with sambal chilli and fews dish at Soup Restaurant (paragon outlet) but it's quite expensive ha ha... So in the end I found the way how to eat and save my pocket money !


Ingredients:

Sweet potato leaves, tremmed and washed
2-3 cloves of garlic chopped
2-3 talbespoons of sambal chilli
2-3 vegetables oil
Salt to taste ( a little bit)


Method:

Heat oil in wok when hot add garlic chopped until become gold colour then add the sweeth potato leaves follow salt, dish out and serves hot.
